ST2.4 Ammonoids in stratigraphy

Convener: Arnaud Brayard This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Co-Conveners: Claude Monnet

Due to their wide geographical distribution, high evolutionary rates and high preservation potential, ammonoids are widely recognized as a powerful tool to elaborate high-resolution temporal zonations and large-scale correlations. One of the objectives of this session is to review new applications in biostratigraphy using ammonoids as well as methods, including quantitative approaches, used to obtain new robust and high-resolution zonations. Any contribution on the Paleozoic and Mesozoic ammonoid stratigraphy is welcome, as well as contribution evaluating various methods and their potential computer implementation.

The proceedings of the session will be printed on an international journal. The conveners will submit a proposal to Geobios
